Problems Of Current LIB Recycling Methods

Pyrometallurgy operates at extremely high temperatures, leading to high energy use and operational costs, while generating toxic off-gases and losing valuable lithium in slag.

Hydrometallurgy, though less energy-intensive, relies on hazardous chemicals and acids, which create toxic wastewater and require costly, multi-step processing.

Direct recycling struggles to handle diverse battery compositions without specialized treatment steps, leading to an increase in operational complexity.

Our Solution

We are currently developing a new, superior and flexible process for lithium-ion battery recycling that reduces complexity, operational costs and emissions. And the only solvent is water!
